Im in the market for some new boots and Im hoping to get some ideas. Right now Im leaning toward the Lowa Tibet GTX Hi. I have crap for ankles so I want something with solid ankle support. I love my Lowa Renegade GTX so Im pretty sure Ill like the Tibets. My only gripe is they are a bit on the heavy side at 4.2lbs. I have a buddy who has returned probably 5 or 6 pairs of Lowa's because they leak. When I chose the Tibet's, I also had a Hanwag Alaska GTX boot to compare it to. I liked the Hanwag too, but there was a little bit of heal slip, so I went with the Tibet. Pennsylvania. i have the meindl perfekt 10 hunter, not the denali but my 11.5 EE meindl is wider across the forefoot than a size 12 wide lowa tibet. in fact the tibets are comfortable with a just cotton white athletic sock but they are tight width -wise with a lightweight smartwool sock. With that all said have had Meindls fckout on first outing and Lowas last 3 or 4 months. Best pair of boots i have currently are Hanwag Alaska's 2 years going well (winter boot). Have also got a pair of Lowa Z6s ive had for 4 years and still great boots, starting to show signs of wear due to age and the fact i wear them a lot (summer tops boot).
